High School ESL | Free | ||
The summer school courses for high school English learners are taught by ESL-certified teachers. The classes will develop fundamental skills in English academic language, literacy, and social and leadership traits. Teachers will provide appropriate linguistic support that English learners need to be successful in required courses for graduation, college, and career. This summer learning opportunity is especially important to students who are over-aged and under-credited and came in late during the 2024-2025 school year. In addition, tutors will be provided to campuses with high numbers of EBs enrolled and attending Accelerated Instruction and/or Credit Retrieval to support a low student-teacher ratio. Summer school tuition will be waived for students enrolled in any course needed. High school counselors will work with ESL teachers and the LPAC to determine summer recommendations. | |||
